brunnhilde's brake service - part 2







I wanted to check I order the correct rotors with this not so accurate improvised caliper before taking things apart


yes, close enough for government work




getting the old rotor off is a bit of struggle requiring a sludge hammer even after manually retracting the parking brake shoes through the not too obvious access hole on the hub

the drum surface is smooth

drum brake shoes are hardly worn as they should be and the mechanism are in good shape



this rotor is badly pitted hence the reason for the abnormal ware rate of the pad down to backing plate









squeeze the pistons back in









 



after cleaning the slider pins I opted to reuse the original rubber collars as the one that came with the pads look inferior; I did the same with those on the Mini
