road trip - spring 2014, part 12

This is the twelfths installment of the series of post on a road trip during the spring of 2014.

I used three different cameras in the trip and it is a nightmare to organize them in chronological order.

Russian knock off of BMW boxer - someone I know has one and according to him it is very roughly built and fuel inefficient
a segment of route 66
route 66 near Flagstaff
on the way to the Grand Canyon the weather looks ominous and I was constantly struggling against cross-head wind that threaten to blow Brunnilde into the ditch
watching the elevation gaining - 7310 feet; the altimeter informed me how hard the grade Brunnhilde was pulling

i completely forgot the webastro diesel furnace is not set up to run at high altitude until hearing it struggled in the night because running too rich - i decided to risk killing myself by using the kitchen burners for comfort heat
i finally got to cooking with the alligator meat bought in Louisiana
alligator meat tastes better than chicken - much more interesting

flagstaff AZ
finally arrived at the Grand Canyon National Park

it was so windy at the canyon edge that one can easily be blown off the cliff - this tree fell right in front of my eyes
you can see the weather change by the minute at this altitude
