road trip - spring 2014, part 13

This is the thirteenth installment of the series of post on a road trip during the spring of 2014.

hoover dam

the stepped up security - all RVs are directed to pull over in a designated area and the federal agent came on board to check for threat; you kidding me? even a moron knows you cannot carry enough dynamite in a sprinter to make a bare scratch on the gigantic dam structure; nice to see my tax dollars hard at work
lake mead created by the hoover dam mega project

the giant spillway - a very miniature black hole if you ever find yourself being washed down it
 love the vintage light fixture

the rail cars below looks like tinker toys
the overflow spillway dam which haven't seen water for a very long long time
unless the earth gets a noah's flood, this spillway will never get used again

arriving at the sin city - hay, i am just riding solo thru the town on my way to the death valley

no, high rollers do not arrive in Westfalia James Cook
i set up the iFone for freehand operation while cruising the strip
one of many Thrump's VIP shuttles - i am sure he would prefer i call it limousine

had to find a safe and quiet place so i settled under the freeway overpass adjacent to an adult toy shop to make dinner

bought this ok bottle of cotes du rhone in New Orleans

doing a few passes on the strip taking photo and video is all i care for; dry camped overnight and ready to leave my sins behind
one of many sprawling ugly suburbia
there was not a supermarket in sight so i tried this store which also sells "grocery" - i bought nothing
death valley is just hours away
