reisemobile - part 1

just a post on a collection of noteworthy compact motorhomes from around the world

westfalia Columbus
Columbus is the current top of the range in Westfalia's lineup
sleeps up to 4 and you can order the 4x4 option too

here is an excellent video for it

if you prefer German - this is an older video

westfalia Amundsen

Amundsen is very similar to Columbus but more economical targeting younger buyers
sleeps up to 2

here is an excellent video for it

if you prefer in German

To me it is my opinion that Westfalia has no peers in the van conversion industry. One would not know how it sets itself apart from the rest until you have owned one of their products. There are a lot more than what first meet the untrained eyes. Alas, if you live in North America, there is zero prospect of owning either of the above unless you are prepare to wait about 25 years.

micro motorhome - despite of the diminutive size it is extremely well design and made; there are a lot of similar positive attributes as found in all Westfalia

the official video - i would love to rent one to tour Japan

pay attention to this video - there must be provision to sleep 6 or 7, and with plenty of storage; not one cubic millimeter is wasted

here is another great promotional video where you can see the well appointed interior

I tried to find more information of the Toyato chassis the Vantech Zil Noble is built on. Surprisingly it is possible to buy them used in Austria by importing from Japan. Also more surprising is the Vantech Zil was once Toyato's own factory built motorhome called Camroad. You can see the Camroad badge on the front of the vehicle in the above videos.

Evidently a number of countries like UK and Australia have less restriction on importation of old vehicles. From what I gather they allow vehicles as recent as 10 years old, while US and Canada requires 25.

  1. The only motorhome I would trade for my James Cook is the La Strada Nova M. But it also has the most pathetic cooking area you've ever seen! A pity
You can see it on the tog-reisemobile site.
