As follows are photos taken from a morning market where locals go fresh grocery shopping
bamboo shoots come in different kinds and sizes - these look tender and delicious
cuttlefish for 180 baht (i assume it is per kg) is a lot of money for average thai

a lot of shoppers in this morning market were buying cooked food to give to the monks - here this vendor has plates of cooked food ready to sell to customers

my hotel manager told me the good in the market is very good; problem is the vendor only sold them by putting in plastic bags as commonly done in thailand; fortunately i bought some plates and spoons

it is one of the most (all natural) umami-filled snacks
on the one of the tourist streets the sign says "red snapper" for 180 baht each - these are no snappers; these are tilapia which is a aqua-industry's farmed fish
my hotel manager told me most of the tilapias in thailand are supplied by a company that also manufactures animal feeds; i told him it sounds about right; here in the US agribusiness that manufacture pet food also manufacture farm animal feed, as well as feed for farmed seafood

one other current issue is thailand's border dispute with neighboring cambodia for a tiny plot of land; they both agreed to a UN court to rule; here the UN court just made its determination with the ownership goes to cambodia
