sound pressure meters

I have this Radio Shack analog sound pressure meter a long time. It was the most cost effective at the time as the next step up would be professional equipment that cost close to $1000 circa 25 years ago. The main shortcoming of it is it measures only down to 60 dB. 

Now you can pick up a digital meter for as low as $20. I decided to spend a little more and buy one with peak hold, ranging, and A and C weighting selection. It is not a tool that I need frequently but very nice to have when the needs arise, such as being able to compare the result of noise reduction of the rooftop air conditioner in and outside of the motorhome.





Yes, as usual it has the pungent nasty Harbor Freight Store smell.
